DNN Interviews[]
Gnasty invades Dragon Worlds![]
Early yesterday afternoon Gnasty, a Gnorc who was banished to the Dragon outerworld, cast a spell on the Dragon Worlds, crystalizing all the Dragons within. He then transformed all the Dragon gems he could find into willing Gnorc minions. He even began turning the Dragon Worlds into Gnorc Worlds!
Details are sketchy at this time, but it appears that one Dragon was absent during the spell casting. Young Spyro just happened to be playing hooky - again - and missed getting crystallized by Gnasty's spell.
DNN's crack investigative team spoke with psychologist and Gnorc specialist Dr. Fruda Dragon. "Gnasty resents the Dragon populace for their peaceful communities. More than anything, he detests their beautiful, shiny jewels, which are not only nice to look at, but are a constant reminder of his own flaws. This 'gem envy' as we in the psychology field call it, is rather common among Gnorcs, but is greatly advanced in Gnasty's case. I would love to get him in my chair and discuss his mother!"
According to Artisan records, Gnasty became such a problem that he was banished to the Dragon junkyard. This is not first on most Dragons' travel itineraries, but it suited Gnasty just fine. He renamed it Gnasty's World as soon as he got there. Gnasty began to fool around with magic spells. After a while, he hit on the two he wanted: a giant spell to trap all the Dragons in crystal, and a potion to animate those radiant gems and turn them into Gnorc soldiers. Yesterday saw the frightening culmination of his efforts.
Those pro-Dragon inhabitants left in the Dragon Worlds have pinned their hopes on lone Dragon Spryo for help. Now Spyro, the only unfrozen Dragon, must travel the six worlds - including Gnasty's industrial world - releasing all the Dragons and collecting their stolen treasure. In the meantime, Gnasty's minions are doing their best to stop him. Not that Spyro is completely alone . . . the Dragons he releases can give him hints, and all along the way he is accompanied by his best friend Sparx the Dragonfly.
DNN is devoting all its resources to bringing you the latest events in this crisis.
Artisans go crazy for Spyro![]
Spyro-mania has become the phrase for the public fascination with Spyro, a spunky, young dragon who has taken on the task of ridding the Dragon Worlds of Gnorcs, restoring the dragon populace and reclaiming the dragon treasure.
Two days ago, Spyro was out with his dragonfly companion Sparx when Gnasty the evil Gnorc cast a spell upon all the dragons, turning them to crystal. Spyro was the only dragon left unaffected. Instead of running away, this pint-sized hero is showing true courage by single-handedly taking on Gnasty's army of Gnorcs.
"That Spyro really showed the Artisans a thing or two about courage," states local Artisan Biffo the dragon. "I'm always telling my wife, 'Size doesn't matter, honey!' Well, now this l'il fella has proven my point, and quite well I must say. Although frankly, I would have been happy if he left her in that crystal a little while longer. You could fit ten Gnorcs through that yappin' mouth of hers!"
Fontavia, Director at the Artisan Playhouse proclaims, "This Spyro is simply fabulous! What drama! What bravado! I am already writing a script, 'Spyro: Courage Under Fire.' It will be, how do you say...a sensation!"
"I think he's so dreamy!" says Donna Dragon. "It was love at first sight when that brave dragon unfroze me. Spyro gave me a quick wink and trotted off, but I know we made a connection!"
Truly, by all accounts Spryo the Dragon is universally loved. Given such moral support, Gnasty and his Gnorcs seem to be no match. We here at DNN would like to say, "Go get 'em, Spryo!"
Spyro puts on show for fans[]
It was a hot time in the old Artisan world last night! Teen heartthrob Spyro the Dragon paid a visit to one of his old neighborhoods, and put on a show for the locals.
Fans of all ages enjoyed a flame-throwing spectacular complete with flight demonstrations and fire tricks. The show went well into the night with Spyro leading both Dragons and Gnorcs in songs around the waterfall.
Though the local dragons were having a great time, sheep from around the Artisan world staged a protest at the event. Toasty, the protest coordinator, claims to have been roasted by Spyro on a number of occasions, and led the group with chants of "Spyro’s a pyro!"
Spyro responded in kind with a blast of heat that sent the protestors running for cover. Toasty later filed a complaint with local police, but no arrests were made.
Though the event was marred by protesting sheep, fans of Spyro still had a great time. 12-year old Hydrax of the Magic Crafters put it best when she said, "Spyro is crescent fresh!"

Sparx the Dragonfly Exclusive Interview!
We all know about Spyro, but did you know he has a partner in his adventures? DNN has landed an exclusive with Sparx the Dragonfly, Spyro's best friend and constant companion. Read on for all the dish!
DNN: Thank you for taking a couple minutes out of your busy day to talk with us, Sparx. I'll jump right in. How long have you and Spyro been friends?
Sparx: Oh, gosh! I used to crawl around on his egg when I was just a larvae. We would talk to each other through his shell - I would describe what it was like outside, and he would...well, he didn't have much to relate since it was dark in his shell, but I didn't really have any other friends. One day a bird was about to eat me, but Spyro saved me in the nick of time. That pretty much solidified our relationship - we've been best of friends ever since, and I would do anything for him.
DNN: That's a great story! It sounds like your relationship hasn't been affected by Spyro's newfound fame. Is this an accurate statement?
Sparx: I think so. I don't really have any aspirations for fame, so it doesn't bother me, and Spyro hasn't changed one bit. Although I do like what little fan mail I've gotten, especially from the ladies. Keep sending those pictures, girls!
DNN: Hah hah. What do you do when you're fighting Gnorcs with Spyro?
Sparx: I can take 3 hits, but then I'm outta there, and Spyro's on his own. He can see how I'm feeling by my color. If I'm yellow I have full health (3 hits), if I am blue, my health is medium (2 hits), and if I am green, my health is low (only 1 hit left!). If I'm low on health, or gone, Spyro just flames some small creatures that release butterflies and I'll be back by his side. I love butterfly snacks, and when I eat one I get one point of health until I'm back to full health. Mmmmm butterflies.
DNN: Okay, well I should let you get back - Spyro is looking a little impatient. Thank you and good luck, it's been a pleasure.
Sparx: Alright, thanks! I'm outta here!
