An unused Ancient Grove variant of the Armardillo makes a cameo in The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night, specifically in the first ship of the Pirate Fleet as one of the captive beasts. The enemy cannot be interacted with, and never appears in its own level.
In The Eternal Night's enemy debug levels, the Ancient Grove Armardillo is completely functional, unlike other scrapped enemies that fail to spawn entirely. It is unknown why the enemy is only seen trapped in-game.[1]
