Blundertails mainly lunge at Spyro while blocking his attacks with their large pincers; in this state, they are invincible to all attacks, even when they themselves are attacking. Spyro must stun them by knocking their claws away in order to inflict damage them. If a Blundertail's health bar is depleted the first time, it will briefly fall unconscious with the rider attempting to revive it, allowing Spyro to headbash the creature to finish it off quickly; if Spyro is too late to do so, the Blundertail will eventually recover with a half-filled health bar and must be attacked the same way in order to defeat it for good (headbash is not required to defeat it during the second time).

Blundertails are scorpion-like creatures that appear as an enemy in The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. They are associated with the Skavengers. Spyro faces two Blundertails when he is captured by the Skavengers, and is forced to fight them in the Fellmuth Arena. They are later encountered as enemies in the level.

Blundertails mainly lunge at Spyro while blocking his attacks with their large pincers; in this state, they are invincible to all attacks, even when they themselves are attacking. Spyro must stun them by knocking their claws away in order to inflict damage on them. If a Blundertail's health bar is depleted the first time, it will briefly fall unconscious with the rider attempting to revive it, allowing Spyro to headbash the creature to finish it off quickly; if left alone howver, the Blundertail will eventually recover with a half-filled health bar and must be attacked the same way in order to knock it out again to deliver the headbash.

The process repeats each time Spyro fails to headbash an unconscious Blundertail until the third time, wherein the headbash is no longer required and the player can attack it with regular melee attacks to defeat it for good.

Trivia

  • The Blundertails are similar to the Buffalo Beetles, attacking Spyro the same way with their claws, but they fire cannonballs from their stingers instead of fire. Also, as mentioned above, they use their claws to block attacks, making them tougher to defeat and more persistent than their previous counterparts.
    • They also have the same character animations as the Buffalo Beetles.
