You can't deny though, that message walls are less time consuming. It's much easier to post quickly, and easier to follow as well. And it auto-archives. And auto signs the time and date. And it's a bit easier to track random contributors. Out of like the 10 or 15 wikis i use, only this and one or two others still have talk pages. Also it shows if a post has been edited. You'd never know I updated this post unless you went to the trouble of checking the history. Votes are in and it seems we will not be adding Message wall this time around.

Some Users would like to see the Message wall added to the wiki. Now some of you are wondering what the Message Wall is, read the FAQ I made about it. Then post in voting if you want it added or not or just leave a comment adding you're two cents in the comments section below.

FAQ

  1. (Q)What is a Message Wall?
  • (A)It Replaces Talk pages with something newer.

  • (A)September 1st
  1. (Q)How do I vote?
  • (A)Just use #--~~~~ Reason here

When you post a reason don't make it about why you think it's c00l and such, post about why you want it and what you hope it helps add to the wiki.

Support

  • Personally I prefer message walls in every way possible, and most of the wikis I use uese them. They are more streamlined, are easier to follow and have discussions, and they have auto signitures you can always see who posted it and when (i've noticed some users, especially unregistered ones, never use signitures). Talk pages are much more time consuming and harder to use. signed, DoomslicerSig. Quod may Minae sceptrum confuto! 00:44, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Oppose

  1. Well, it's not a strong opposement of the Message Wall concept, but I prefer talk pages. After all why fix something that isn't broken? Spartan A054 (talk) 22:06, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
  2. I really don't like message walls, and I don't like being on wikis that use them. {{SUBST:SpyroSonicSig}} 23:06, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
  3. We have it on another wiki, it is only good for blogs or short messages, it is terrible if you are trying to have a debate.--WAVE (talk) 21:49, August 26, 2012 (UTC)
  4. I don't see it as something broken so I don't really see a need to change it.WickedRogue (talk) 09:50, August 31, 2012 (UTC)

Comments

I don't mind it much, but on this wiki I've been using the talk page so long that I want it to stay. I'm still not sure, so I can't vote just yet.

Honestly, I like talk pages more (personal preferance), but I use both ways just as effectively. Spartan A054 (talk) 22:04, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
