Light Gems are collectible items that are similar to Dark Gems, except they do the exact opposite. Instead of sucking out life, they create life. There are a total of 100 Light Gems to collect in Spyro: A Hero's Tail. The player will need to collect eight in order to unlock the Ball Gadget, 24 to unlock the invincibility powerup and 40 to unlock the Supercharge. There are also gates that require a certain amount of Light Gems in order to be opened.
