Metal Vases are a fire-resistant type of gem-filled container that needs to be charged or head bashed in order to be broken open and collect the gems inside. They appear throughout the Spyro series, and later made a reappearance in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.
Some metal vases are wrapped in firework explosives, similar to the Explosive Chests. They need to be flamed in order to break them open automatically. This will send them flying into the air and drop down to break open. Charging them will break them open too, but will hurt Spyro in the process.
Some metal vases are carried by red balloons. Any move or weapon could be used to pop the red balloon causing the vases to fall and break open. They look a lot like the explosive vases. The only big difference is that these vases are blue in the spots where the explosive vases are green.
The vases covered by the fuses are the same model as the bottles found under water. The size and colors might differ weakly.

Trivia[]
There is a glitch in Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, in which if one flames a vase, and then tries charging at it while it wobbles, Spyro will charge through the vase.
