“Terrador, make haste to the Shattered Vale and warn the inhabitants of that region that darkness is spreading in Malefor.”
—Ignitus, The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night

The Shattered Vale is a dwelling of unknown inhabitants in The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night.

The Shattered Vale, although never properly seen, is implied to be a region that is within a considerable proximity to the Mountain of Malefor. The population is unknown, but it must be rather sizeable to be deemed important enough to send one of the Guardians there to warn the inhabitants of the Night of Eternal Darkness.

After the raid on the Dragon Temple at the beginning of The Eternal Night, Ignitus, upon realizing the imminence of the Night of Eternal Darkness, sends Terrador to the Shattered Vale to warm the inhabitants of the forthcoming danger. Due to the close proximity of the region to the Well of Souls, the population was most likely evacuated from the area due to Terrador's warning.

  • In the GBA version of The Eternal Night, Doxantha may serve a similar role to the Shattered Vale, since it is mentioned that the other Gaurdians are there.
  • The above quote not only implies the close proximity of the Shattered Vale to the Well of Souls, it also implies that the region the latter is located in is called "Malefor," named after the eponymous Dragon and mountain.
