- “BOYCOTT THIS GAME!”
- —Toasty
Toasty was an anthropomorphic sheep appearing in the advertisements for the original Spyro the Dragon videogame. He was often seen protesting the sale of the game by picketing outside of game stores and giving speeches trying to encourage the public to boycott. These efforts often failed in humorous ways, resulting in Toasty receiving further injury.
In print ads, he is stated to be pursuing legal action against Spyro personally. Toasty also ran a propaganda website, sheepagainstspyro.com, in which he called for the liberation of sheep-kind.[1]
Portrayal and Development[]
Toasty was voiced by character actor Jon Polito, and was physically portrayed by Bobby Porter, who is famous for his work in the Planet of the Apes franchise.
The Toasty costume was created by The Character Shop,[2] a special effects company that specializes in puppets and animatronics.[3]
